How many times have you been between a rock and a hard place, where the odds of survival are literally zero to none! Maybe you are there now. I have been there MANY times over the past 55 years. BUT, these are the times that God LOVES to come through for us!

I was reading one of the most amazing, “Between a rock and a hard place” stories this week during my Monday fast from 2 Chronicles chapters 18 and 19. (Read the entire story. It will increase your FAITH! And if you haven’t signed up on our GPC Fasting Calendar for March, please do HERE)

Hezekiah was in a NO WIN situation.

The Assyrian army had demolished every city and was now surrounding Jerusalem. The spokesperson for the Assyrian king shouted to the leaders, in front of all the people, how there was no way out. He touted how they had conquered every other city, even those who depended on Hezekiah’s God and how He did not deliver them! He even wrote it in a letter and sent it to Hezekiah. At this point, all the hope the Jews may have had just drained out of them. Have you ever felt this way?

This is what the enemy will attempt to do to you. He will try to convince you that God WILL NOT deliver you, and points to other situations where, seemingly, God didn’t come through for you, or others you know. His goal is to get you onto his turf of doubt, fear and unbelief where he can defeat you every time – knowing that if you pull him onto the playing field of faith he will LOSE every time! So what did Hezekiah do? Let’s read it and follow his example!

“And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord.” 2 Kings 19:14, 15

I love that image – spreading the letter from the enemy out before the Lord.

Maybe that’s what you need to do with your bills, or medical report, or divorce papers–even if the reports are due to your own poor choices. Israel found themselves overwhelmed by the enemy on numerous occasions due to their sins, but when they cried out to God He delivered them! (Many times He gave them something to DO along with His deliverance, so whatever He tells you to do, do it!)

And what was God’s response?

“Thus says the Lord God of Israel, ‘Because you have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, I have heard.’”

He then goes on to tell Hezekiah how He is going to wipe out the enemy, which He did.

Whatever situation you are in, cry out to God! Fast and pray and put ALL your dependence in Him and watch how He responds. He will not let you down.
