I am AMAZED at this passage in Hosea 3:5

“But afterward the people will return and devote themselves to the Lord their God… they will tremble in awe of the Lord and of his goodness.” Hosea 3:5 NLT

In the original language this passage literally says that you and I will be in “shock and awe” at the goodness of God in our lives! How do we get there from here? See VIDEO

The precursor to the outpouring of God’s goodness was that they “returned” and “devoted themselves” to the Lord.

Repentance is a WONDERFUL thing. In it’s simplest terms, to repent means to “turn around”. To head in the opposite direction you are heading now. In spiritual terms it means to “turn away from sin and turn to Him”. And when you do God promises to pour out His goodness on you in such a way that you will be shocked!

Did you know that the same word used for ‘repentance’ can be also used for ‘restoration’?

Biblical restoration is: to establish something better and more than it was in its original state.

Do you want God to restore you? Would you like Him to restore your soul (peace, joy, wisdom), finances, physical health, relationships, your relationship with Him? If so, all you have to do is turn from sin and turn to Him.

What sin is in your life right now that you need to turn from?

This is what we are doing in our current 30 for 30. We are turning from our sinful ways and seeking Him in prayer, the Word, and fasting (FASTING CHAIN CALENDAR) to experience greater INTIMACY, INCREASE, and IN-GATHERING in our lives and our church.

James says that if we are committing spiritual adultery on the Lord that God will give us GRACE to repent! God will help you repent. How awesome is that?

He then says that, as we submit to Him, we can resist the devil and the devil will flee from us in terror! The word “flee” means “to run from danger”. When you submit to God you become dangerous!

Then he finishes by telling us that as we humble ourselves before the Lord that He will raise us up!

Do you want the Lord to raise you up? Do you want to be “startled” by His goodness in your life?

I know you do. We all do. Let’s do our part and He will do His part. Let’s turn and seek Him together and watch Him shock us with His goodness this year!
