What to Expect
Visiting a church for the first time can be an intimidating experience. We’ve all been there. Often there’s a lot of fear and trepidation in walking through those doors – so we’d like to ask you to do one very important thing: relax. We are a non-denominational church where everyone is welcome.
What Time and Where Do You Meet?
We meet at 10:00am on Sunday mornings at 9550 Mt Carmel Rd. directions
Who Else Attends?
GPC has members from Poway, Carmel Mt. Ranch, Rancho Bernardo and Rancho Peñasquitos, El Cajon, Carmel Valley, Ramona, Escondido, Valley Center, Spring Valley and Carlsbad.
Where Do I Take my Children?
That’s easy. Follow the signs. The babies, preschoolers and elementary age children meet in classrooms conveniently located across from the auditorium. We have an electronic system to notify you if your child needs you, so you don’t have to worry about your child during the service. If you’re a nursing mom, we have a special room for you so you can still hear the message or participate in the worship. Visit our kids page for more information.
How Do I Get to Know More About GPC?
The best way to learn about GPC is to attend one of our newcomers luncheons. If you would like to be notified when the next one is scheduled email firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are wondering what to wear, just dress casually. We’re not formal around here. Besides, it’s not a fashion show; we’re here to worship God. Parking is plentiful at Mt. Carmel High School. Our very friendly greeters will show you anything you can’t obviously find. Check out our information booth, there is lots of information and an assortment of books you can buy. We meet in the Performing Arts Auditorium at Mount Carmel High School, a brand new state-of-the-art facility.
What About the Youth? What Do They Do?
The High School and Jr. High kids stay in the auditorium with the adults for worship. They worship in what is affectionately known as The Praise Pit. Normally, during school hours, it’s just an orchestra pit, but our youth decided it would be a great place to worship – and it is! After worship all of the youth go to their own special service with a relevant message that meets them where they are, in an environment where they can be themselves. They learn powerful lessons about God and his desire to have a personal relationship with each one of them.
What is a Weekend Service Like?
To start, we have awesome, contemporary, Spirit-filled worship that brings you into the presence of God. We are blessed to have a lot of very talented musicians at GPC. Often there is a time of just waiting on God, allowing the Holy Spirit to touch our hearts. You will almost always hear a testimony or two of the great things God has done in people’s lives from the previous week. These keep us in touch with the goodness and greatness of God! If you would like prayer, there is time during the service set aside for this purpose, usually at the end of worship or after the message. We like to believe God for the impossible. We have seen God do some amazing things. Multi-media is often used to promote upcoming events or to help powerfully communicate the message for the day. You’ll also receive powerful teaching that will be immediately applicable to your life. Afterwards we invite you to hang out and meet new people. Often we have an “eat and greet” or lunch on the grounds. This gives you a great opportunity to get to know a few people in a relaxed, fun atmosphere.
