Due to COVID all of our groups are online. Simply text the number for the group you want to attend and you will receive a link to the meeting.
You can connect with us during our Live Service (Facebook page) at 10 am on Sunday mornings. You can also visit a Zoom Connect Group and begin making some new friends right away! There are also Zoom Youth meetings as well as Zoom Children’s ministry. Once things open back up again the information on this page will be very helpful for you. Check out the video below to meet our pastor, John Ettore.
What to Expect
Visiting a church for the first time can be an intimidating experience. We’ve all been there. Often there’s a lot of fear and trepidation in walking through those doors – so we’d like to ask you to do one very important thing: relax. We are a non-denominational church where everyone is welcome.
What Time and Where Do You Meet?
We meet at 10:00am on Sunday mornings at 9550 Mt Carmel Rd. (Directions)
Who Else Attends?
GPC has members from Poway, Carmel Mt. Ranch, Rancho Bernardo and Rancho Peñasquitos, El Cajon, Carmel Valley, Ramona, Escondido, Valley Center, Spring Valley and Carlsbad.
How Do I Get to Know More About GPC?
The best way to learn about GPC is to attend one of our newcomers luncheons. Fill out the contact form below and request to be notified for the next luncheon.
If you are wondering what to wear, just dress casually. We’re not formal around here. Besides, it’s not a fashion show; we’re here to worship God. Parking is plentiful at Mt. Carmel High School. Our very friendly greeters will show you anything you can’t obviously find. Check out our information booth, there is lots of information for you there. We meet in the Performing Arts Auditorium at Mount Carmel High School, a brand new state-of-the-art facility.
What About the Youth? What Do They Do?
The High School and Jr. High kids stay in the auditorium with the adults for worship. They worship in what is affectionately known as The Praise Pit. Normally, during school hours, it’s just an orchestra pit, but our youth decided it would be a great place to worship – and it is! After worship, all of the youth go to their own special service with a relevant message that meets them where they are, in an environment where they can be themselves. They learn powerful lessons about God and his desire to have a personal relationship with each one of them.
What is a Weekend Service Like?
To start, we have awesome, contemporary, Spirit-filled worship that brings you into the presence of God. We are blessed to have a lot of very talented musicians at GPC. Often there is a time of just waiting on God, allowing the Holy Spirit to touch our hearts. You will almost always hear a testimony or two of the great things God has done in people’s lives from the previous week. These keep us in touch with the goodness and greatness of God! If you would like prayer, there is time during the service set aside for this purpose, usually at the end of worship or after the message. We like to believe God for the impossible. We have seen God do some amazing things. Multi-media is often used to promote upcoming events or to help powerfully communicate the message for the day. You’ll also receive powerful teaching that will be immediately applicable to your life. Afterwards we invite you to hang out and meet new people. Often we have an “eat and greet” or lunch on the grounds. This gives you a great opportunity to get to know a few people in a relaxed, fun atmosphere.
We’re excited you chose to visit us. If you’re new to church or are looking for the right one, we’ve got a place for you here! We meet at Mt. Carmel HS Performing Arts Center. 9550 Carmel Mtn Rd. (Directions)
We are a Spirit-filled, non-denominational Christian church that loves to celebrate God, minister His love to one another and believe His promises for victorious living. Most of all, we’d like to meet you, answer your questions, and introduce you to the Gathering Place Church.
When you visit you will quickly discover that we are a community of believers who are committed to three things:
• experiencing the goodness and greatness of God;
• building genuine Christian friendships; and
• making a difference in our community and world.
If you have questions, feel free to call or email. We’ll be glad to answer any questions you might have. Most of all, we would love to meet and get to know you.
