30 for 30 RESET – Day 15

Gatheringplace   -

“But the Lord says, ‘Even the captives of the most mighty and most terrible shall all be freed; for I will fight those who fight you, and I will save your children.’” Isaiah 49:25 TLB

Let’s go after our children today! (If you don’t have children, please go after ours with us. They are the next generation of kingdom leaders for our nation and world)

There are few things in life, if any, that burden our hearts more than the welfare of our kids. This love that hurts so profoundly comes from God. He loves ALL His children, including yours, and He pours His love through our hearts towards them so that we will do everything we can to seem them saved and walking with Him. There are such great promises in the Bible about our kids. Let’s read and pray them today.

First, claim the promise that your children will be saved. This is what that Isaiah 49:25 passage promises us. It may, or may not, happen in your lifetime, but your prayers will be a key factor in them coming to the Lord. Or, if they are already saved, pray that they will submit to the Lord’s authority and live their lives fulfilling His divine purpose.

Secondly, claim that they will know the peace of the Lord.

“All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.” Isaiah 54:13 NKJ

Peace is something that everyone searches for. Peace is the opposite of turmoil, chaos, stress, and anxiety. What our children do to find this peace can be problematic. But what we know is that Jesus promises us His peace (John 14:27), and Paul says we can have the “peace that passes our understanding (Philippians 4:6-7) – so let’s pray the promise that our kids will be “taught by the Lord” and that “great shall be their peace.”

And finally, claim that they will be mighty warriors for the Lord.

“Children are a gift from the Lord; babies are a reward. Children who are born to a young man are like arrows in the hand of a warrior. Happy is the man who has his bag full of arrows. They will not be defeated when they fight their enemies at the city gate.” Psalm 127:3-5 NCV

“I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies, and in your offspring shall all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice.” Genesis 22:17-18 ESV

God made this promise to Abraham, and the Book of Galatians says that we are his offspring, which includes our children!

Today, pray these promises over each of your children, and/or the children of your family, friends, and church. And please include mine!

QUICK TIP ON HOW TO SPEND 30 MINUTES WITH GOD (REMEMBER: This 30 for 30 is a tool to help you, not a rule to shame you. Just do your best and let God do the rest.)

“Upward, Inward, and Outward”

  1. Upward: Get quiet. Settle down. Begin to thank God for Who He is – patient, kind, merciful. A God Who forgives sins – Who has forgiven your sins. A God Who cares, Who listens to your prayers, a miracle-working God. (There are many other attributes you can thank Him for. Go HERE for a prayer guide as well as a list of God’s names that will help you thank Him for Who He is)
  2. Inward: Read a chapter in the Bible. I would suggest one Psalm per day. Start with Psalm 1 and go from there. Or read one chapter of Proverbs per day. Start with Proverbs 1 and go from there. And as you read, stop, and think about what it is saying. Take your time (even if you do not get through an entire chapter – it is okay!). Ask God to speak to you through it.

A deeper dive: For those of you who would like to read the Bible in a year, here is a fantastic way to do it. It will take more than 30 minutes per day, but it will be well worth it. It not only gives you a reading plan but each day there is a short, very well-produced video explaining what you are about to read. Go HERE for your one year through the Bible reading plan.

  1. Outward: Ask God to show you how He can use you to reach those around you. Then begin to pray specifically for individuals. Pray for your family members, your boss, co-workers, classmates, friends, your church, its members, its mission, and its leadership. Pray for our city and our nation – that God would rule and reign in every mountain of influence, raising up leaders who fear Him: Church, Family, Government, Education, Media, Entertainment/Arts, and Business. You will not be able to get to everything in 30 minutes, but that is okay, just pick an area or two per day.
