Whatever you are facing, the solution is easy for God. It may be complex for you, but it is simple for Him.
That is why it is so important to get His input on whatever it is you need help with. He has the answer.
One of my favorite Scriptures in the entire Bible is found in 2 Kings 3:18
“And this is a simple matter in the sight of the Lord.”
What was a simple matter for the Lord? To get water to his army that was about to die in the desert.
Have you ever been there? You might be there now. It may be the potential death of your marriage, or a job, your career, your financial heath, a ministry, or maybe even physical death for you or a loved one. Whatever it is, God can bring a miraculous solution.
However, God will require partnership from you. God could certainly take care of the problem Himself, but He won’t. He wants to face your challenges with you. He will give you something to do to partner with Him in bringing the miracle to pass.
What was God’s assignment in this Biblical story? God told the king to have his army dig ditches in the desert! God even told them that there would be no wind or rain. In other words, there would be nothing in the natural that they would be able to point to and say, “This is how it is going to happen.”
So, what did they do? They dug ditches. Moses stretched his rod out over the Red Sea. The general, Naaman, dipped seven times in the dirty, Jordan river. Joshua marched around the city for seven days.
What has the Lord told you to do? Are you willing to do it even if it doesn’t make sense? If you haven’t done it already, you still have time to do it. Do it today. If you don’t know what He wants you to do, ask Him.
That is what these 30 for 30s are for. They are to help you develop, or deepen, the habit of spending time with God every day in the Bible and prayer so you can experience His strength and strategy.
Begin with this story. Read it and see what God will say to you about your situation through it.
The other thing I love about this story is that the water supernaturally came during their daily devotion!
“Now it happened in the morning, when the grain offering was offered, that suddenly water came by way of Edom, and the land was filled with water.” 2 Kings 3:20
God could have caused the water to show up at anytime during the day. He chose to do it while they were worshipping Him.
Seek God with me every day over the next thirty days and let’s watch Him move miraculously in our lives.
- What is it that God has told you to do. Have you done it? If not, why not? Ask God to give you the courage to do it today.
- How does it help you to know that the solution to your problem is simple for God?
