Throughout the Faith series, my dad and I have been setting aside time to pray together for specific things we want to see God do in our lives and the lives of others.
One of those things for me has been the Lord’s guidance as I decide on a college for next year and formulate how I will pay for it. Well, one of my top schools (Point Loma Nazarene) offers merit scholarships based on academic GPA and standardized test scores, and though my GPA qualified me for the scholarship I needed, my SAT score was 50 points too low.
This was discouraging, especially because I had already taken the SAT 4 times my junior year and my score plateaued on the last two takes. My dad and I agreed in prayer, asking that if PLNU is the school for me, to help me increase my SAT score by 80.
So, I registered for the March 9th SAT, studied what more I could, took the test, and honestly did not feel like I had done any better than the last two times. But clearly, God bubbled in a few freebies for me because I got an increased score of, yes, exactly 80 points.
I am starting at Point Loma Nazarene University this fall with a double-major in Music and Business. Woohoo! Thank you God!
