Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT

This is a forever promise. When we have turned from God and truly messed up, and find ourselves in a desperate situation, like we are right now, God promises that if we turn to Him, He will heal us.

That means that He can and that He will. But we need to do our part.

That is why I am asking you to join the leadership of The Gathering Place Church, beginning this coming Monday, October 5th thru the 15th on a Daniel Fast. This type of fast can be found in Daniel chapter 10 where it says,

I ate no pleasant food, no meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.” Daniel 10:3

(I am going to forego the not showering part).

You can fast whatever foods you want, but please fast.

So often prayer alone will not change things. Many times, it takes fasting along with prayer. This is proven numerous times throughout the Old and New Testaments in the Bible. As well as throughout Church history. It has also happened in my life, and I am sure in many of yours.

Nobody likes to fast. But what I do not like more is what is happening in our nation. We need God.

Will you fast with us? Not only will it make a huge difference for our country, but it will change you as well. It will draw you nearer to Jesus, which is even more important than what we need to see happen in our world.

You can go to Fasting Tips for some information that will help you understand how to effectively fast.

Now, before I close, I would like to invite all of you who live in San Diego to our first outdoor church service since COVID-19 hit. There will be a taco truck there at 5pm for a free dinner, (nice way to prepare for a fast!), then worship, the Word, and healing prayer teams ready to pray for you at the end of the service.

Please come prepared to adhere to all social distancing mandates, including wearing a mask and using hand sanitizer, as we have vulnerable members who may attend, as well as those who have immunocompromised family members at home.
