prayer and fasting

So often we pray for things that we know are God’s will, but they just don’t seem to be happening. Sometimes it may be a timing issue, but other times it may be a faith issue, or resistance from the enemy, and both can be addressed through fasting!

This was the case for Daniel when He found a promise of God in the Bible and began praying for understanding. It took 21 days for an angel to appear to him to give him the insight he needed, and yet, as you will read below, the angel was sent from the first day Daniel began to fast and ask.

Then he said to me, ‘Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia.” Daniel 10:12, 13

I want to invite you to fast with me for these 21 days and let’s watch what God can do as we, “set our hearts to understand and humble ourselves before our God”!

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.” 2 Chronicles 16:9

In December we taught a 2-part series entitled, “The Big Ask!”. Click to listen to Part 1 and Part 2. The Lord clearly spoke to us that this is the season of the Big Ask. But many times, the things we are believing for won’t happen without fasting. So, in January we are adding fasting to our asking. Join us as we dedicate the first month of the year to the Lord with a 21 day fast – Sunday evening, January 6th, through Sunday, January 27th. Please mark your calendar and expect God’s blessing all throughout 2019!
