Did you know that God has always wanted to be with you? He did not design you to be able to live life well without Him. It just does not work.

Think about it. At the very beginning of time, God created a Garden, then He created a man and women, placed them in the Garden, then “walked with them in the cool of the day”.

Walking with God. That is all He has wanted from the start. That is all any good father wants – to hang with his kids.

After the first man and woman fell from God’s presence through sin (they chose to live independently from Him because they were told the lie that it would be a better life), God has been doing everything He can to continue to be with us.

So how can you know that God is with you?

One of the clearest ways is by recognizing how God reveals Himself to you when He meets your needs. That is primarily how you get to know Him. You have a desperate need, you cry out to Him, He meets that need, and you see Him as your healer, provider, protector, comforter, or whatever your need was. In fact, many times in the Bible when God met someone’s need, He would then reveal one of His names; Jehovah Rapha – the Lord Our Healer, Jehovah Jireh – the Lord Our Provider, Jehovah Shalom – The Lord Our Peace, Jehovah Shammah – The Lord is There, as well as many more.

He did this when He delivered His people from Egypt with signs and wonders when they needed deliverance from bondage.

Or in the desert when He provided a pillar of fire at night to give them light and warmth and a cloud by day to give them shade from the desert sun.

Or in the Promised Land when He revealed Himself as the Captain of Heaven’s Armies to give them victory in battle.

God wants to show Himself to you every day as you call out to Him in your need. It might be for peace, comfort, or courage. Maybe it is for companionship or guidance.

But the number one way you can know that God is with you always and forever is by what He did when He came from heaven to earth to be your Savior.

Think about all He went through to make it possible for you to be with Him.

Your greatest need is forgiveness of sins and God took care of that so He could breathe His Spirit into your heart. Once that happens, not only will God always be with you, but in you!

The Bible says,

“…God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, Abba Father!” Galatians 4:6

Abba Father means, “Daddy”.

God made this possible by coming down from heaven as a baby in a manger. He came to rescue you. That is what the cross was all about – a rescue mission. It was to restore His relationship with you.

If God went through all that trouble to get you back, do you think He would ever distance Himself from you? No. Once you receive Jesus as your Savoir you are a son or daughter of God forever.

If you have already received Jesus as your Savior, do not ever feel insecure about God being with you. That is why He sent His Son, so you would never have to be separated from Him again.

If you have not yet received Jesus for salvation, do it now. Just open your heart and ask Him to forgive you for your sins and commit to following Him for the rest of your life.
