My fifteen year old son and I were talking about how selfish and mean people in the world can be. I then told him when Jesus told me to start a church that one of my goals was to build a community of others-centered people as a stark contrast to the surrounding culture – which Jesus has done.
He then said, ” I have become more of a giver because of our church. Like today I bought each one of my brothers and sisters a $5 SB card. A year ago I never would have done that- especially for my siblings!”
Q. How did that feel?
A. I thought it would hurt but it felt great!
Q. Why do you think our church made you become more of a giver?
A. Because everyone is so loving and kind and has done so much for us it’s made me realize how selfish I’ve been.
