What I Do For GPC: I oversee our Missions Ministry. I am passionate about making the name of Jesus famous here, there, and everywhere. Unreached people who have never heard the name of Jesus have a special place in my heart.
What I Do For Fun: I love to read, hang with my family. get outdoors, cook, eat, dinner parties …
What Makes Me Laugh: My hubby, my kids!
What Makes Me Cry: The kindness of God.
In A Previous Life (before GPC): My husband and I were part of Horizon Park Chapel, a church located in downtown San Diego, for many years. We both started our walks with the Lord there.
Best Advice I Ever Received: Obey what you know. Don’t worry about what you don’t know or understand.
Things I Care About: My family. Stewarding what God has given me to help advance His Kingdom and make Jesus known.
Family Matters: I have a great husband and we have two young children. I love being a wife and mamma.
My Secret Talent: I’ll have to think about that.
My Favorite Cartoon Character and Why: My favorite cartoon series is Torchlighters: Heroes of the Faith. I love to watch these with my kids, we get inspired EVERY time. My favorite is Perpetua. (These are free on Amazon Prime — watch them!)
Grew Up Where: I am a San Diego native.
Favorite Movies: I rarely watch movies, though am a YouTube junkie. I like watching videos with spiritual content … occasionally a documentary. I might be addicted to evangelism videos.
Food I Can’t Live Without: Mexican.
Favorite Books: The Bible. Anything by Dallas Willard. (Thank you Mark and Shell Cowper-Smith for turning me on to him!) Missionary biographies and stories are at the top of my list. A couple favorites: The Torn Veil and Mimosa.
Favorite Music/Bands: The Jerry ‘Hot Rod’ DeMink band, of course! (Jerry is my husband.) Some of my favorite Christian artists are Shane and Shane, Josh Garrels, All Sons & Daughters, and Will Reagan.
What Made Me Want To Follow Jesus: I was empty. I heard the Good News – that Jesus, the Son of God, gave his life making it possible for me to enter into relationship with Him. I thought to myself, “this seems to good to be true”. I took a chance and began to follow Jesus. EVERYTHING changed. I’ll never turn back.
