Pastors from churches all over North County gather monthly to pray for revival. Lutherans, Baptists, Assemblies of God, Pentecostal, Charismatic, Vineyard, Methodist, Episcopal – and more – come together as one. How is this possible? Simply put, by majoring on the majors, and minoring on the minors!
Prayer The Key To Revival
Prayer is the key to revival. Even though they have different doctrines regarding healing, sanctification, end times, etc… each of these pastors believes that Jesus is the only, unique Son of God. Each believes Jesus is the only way to heaven and that He is, one day, going to return to bring us to our eternal home, Heaven. All of them believe that the most important thing is that God would be glorified in our city and this is accomplished by leading as many people to Christ as possible before His return. This is the one common goal and why they pray together.
Praise, Prayer, Practical Service
God has given them clear direction to pray, praise and to do practical service together, but the greatest of these is prayer. There is not one revival in the history of the church that cannot be traced back to prayer; sometimes just one or two people desperately seeking God for radical change.
A Side Benefit for Pastors
There has been an invaluable side benefit to the pastors praying together over the years: genuine, life-giving friendships have been formed that will clearly last a lifetime. Many spiritual leaders do not have friends, let alone close friends, which can be seriously problematic, and a great loss. But here in North County, that is changing.
