Satan Comes Immediately
That’s what Jesus said.
In the book of Mark, chapter 4, Jesus taught us how the entire kingdom of God works. It’s very simple:
- God does something in your life.
- Satan comes immediately to steal it away.
- You choose to stand your ground!
- You win.
Jesus told us that if we did not understand this, we would not be able to understand anything He taught. Isn’t that amazing? (Read Mark 4:13-20)
In this passage Jesus tells us the five ways Satan tries to steal God’s work in your life:
- Cares (anxieties) of this world
- Deceitfulness of riches
- Lust for other things
But he can’t do it without your permission! And knowing that these are his tactics makes it MUCH easier to recognize them and not be thrown off when they come.
Now, this may cause some fear in you, which it did me at first. But God caught me fretting over this one day and spoke to me and said,
“You have more faith in Satan coming than in Me giving you the grace to overcome the attack.”
You see, Jesus didn’t tell us the strategy of the enemy to scare us. He told us so that we would be well-informed warriors on the battlefield, setting us up for VICTORY!
The best way to lose a war is to not know who your enemy is (some don’t even believe they have one), and what he’s up to. Well, Jesus pulled the curtains back and showed us EXACTLY what he is up to, and then gave us the weapons to overcome him.
The primary weapon you have, and the one that Satan is after, is clearly brought out in this passage –
The Word of God.
God’s Word is the supernatural force that changes everything. It created everything in the beginning. It is the source of your faith, the light to your path, and the most powerful offensive weapon you have. (See Ephesians 6:10-20)
Don’t fall for his tricks. Don’t get confused when you are attacked. Don’t give in and don’t give up.
God’s word for this year is that we would SEE His Glory. Satan will challenge that word. BUT, if you stand your ground, and choose to be GOOD GROUND, God’s Word will produce 30, 60, and 100-fold in your life!
