Who is right in this confusing, frustrating, disappointing, political climate?

God is!

In fact, God is the only one Who is right all the time, in every situation. And guess what? He has made YOU right, too!

What does that mean?

“He who knew no sin was made to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

You are right with God. Did you know that? How is that possible? Jesus took your unrighteousness and gave you His righteousness – or rightness.

Why is this important? 3 Reasons:

1. How you relate to God.

If you live with a condemned heart because of your sin, you will not be able to approach God with assurance. You will either avoid Him or come to Him in shame. However, if you understand that you are right in God’s sight because of Jesus, you will, “…come boldly to the throne of grace to find help in your time of need!” Hebrews 4:16

2. How you relate to the devil

Again, if you live with a condemned heart you will not be able to fight the enemy with the kind of confidence you will need to withstand him.

“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place.” Ephesians 6:14 NIV

A breastplate covers your heart. God’s gift of righteousness protects your heart from shame and condemnation. Did you see that it is called GIFT?

“…those who receive an abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17b

3. How you relate to the world

When you gave your life to Jesus, God gave you His heart that desires right, His Word that is right, and the will to do right.

“The kingdom of God is… righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Romans 14:17

This is about being the “salt and light of the world”.

It is about your influence. Salt preserves. We are called to preserve society by our righteous deeds. The Church is what holds back evil from taking over the earth. It is also what reveals the righteousness of God to a lost and dying world so they may have hope.

“…let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 NIV

This is also about your reputation. If you do not have a righteousness reputation your testimony of Jesus will have no credibility.

“Choose a good reputation over great riches; being held in high esteem is better than silver or gold.” Proverbs 22:1 NLT

So today, put on God’s breastplate so that you will be dressed to win!
