When you have tests taken to determine if you have a disease or not, you wait on pins and needles until the test results come back. You are hoping and praying that the results are good!

It is the same way with the disease of fear, worry, and anxiety. These will steal your peace, joy, and health.

We have been talking about trusting the Lord during stressful, unstable, unpredictable times. How are you doing? What are your test results like?

If they are not good, I want to encourage you again today to do what the Psalmist did to maintain his mental and emotional health:

“I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.” Psalm 116:7-8

Notice how God will give you counsel, and even instruct your heart while you sleep. The Psalmist also says that he will not be moved or shaken. But how?
He sets the Lord always before him. One translation says, “I keep my eyes always on the Lord.” NIV

What are you keeping before your eyes? Is it the election results? Or a constant diet of social media and news? If so, I guarantee you your test results are not good – anger, stress, anxiety, worry, fear…

Because the Psalmist chose to keep the Lord before His eyes, he goes on to say,

“Therefore, my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices…” Psalm 116:9a

I know you want that. So how do you set the Lord always before you?

God tells us in Deuteronomy 6:4-9 NLT

“Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

I want you to be at peace, so I encourage you again today to make the first thing you do when you get up getting into the Word of God. Let Him speak to your heart before the world does. In this way, you will keep your peace and get positive test results!”
