Connecting

Forming friendships and sharing our lives is one of the keys to living what the Bible refers to as an “abundant” life. Relationships are what living the Christian life is all about – it is how we live out our faith – connecting first with God, and then with each other. We welcome you to visit a connect group, this is the first step to finding friendship, support, encouragement, love and prayer. Read More...

What's New

God is on the move today and He tells His people all throughout the Bible to record what He has done so that their faith would remain strong and active. Psalm 102:18 says, “Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord.” This is especially important for those who have not yet seen their prayers answered. We have encourage- ment and comfort for you. Read More...

Welcome to Gathering Place Church

Visiting a church for the first time can be an intimidating experience. We’ve all been there. We are a non-denomination, Spirit Filled Church in the San Diego Area, that meets Sundays at 10am at 9550 Carmel Mtn Road in Rancho Penasquitos. We love to; celebrate God together, minister His love to one another, study and believe the Bible verses He promises for victorious living. If you are looking for answers or strength or faith, come expecting God to meet you.

Love - Nothing else matters. We can have the greatest church in the world, but if we don’t have love, the Bible says we are nothing. Therefore love is what we do, expressed in a thousand different ways. “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35
Worship – Worship is a matter of the heart. It is seen by where we put our priorities and allegiance. As followers of Jesus we believe this life is not about us. Jesus called us and saved us. We are thankful. This is why we freely and joyfully give of ourselves; our time, energies, abilities and money, for the things that matter most to Him. “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33

People - church is not a business. Church is about people. All people. Not just the people who are in the church, but people all around the world who are suffering and needy. The Church is called to reach all people and to share and show the love and grace of Jesus. Church is not about what we do on Sundays and during the week when we meet in small groups. But rather every moment of our lives living with the passion to share the good news of God’s love and presence with every person we meet. “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.” Matthew 25:40
Music - Music is powerful. God created it and has given it to us to express our love for Him. And we do it with excellence. Our passion is to play at the top of our skill level and with all of our hearts.  When we play, His supernatural presence comes among us and does things that only God can do. (Psalm 150)
The Holy Spirit - Christianity is not about willpower but Spirit power.  It is about the Holy Spirit resting upon ordinary people enabling them to do extraordinary things. Things like extraordinary love for God and for people, deep peace, power, wisdom, strength, boldness, forgiveness, and spiritual authority over the devil and the ability to undo all of his evil works… “The Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Romans 14:17

None of the above happens without prayer. It is about remaining connected to the Source of all that is good.

By God’s Grace Today is the last day of our 30 Days of Blessing! Of course our goal from the start was not to do this for only thirty days, but rather, as a congregation, to use it to shape the culture of our church and our lives to bless others. I want to say […]

Bless, Speak Life, Show Love By Kiersten Clegg The other day I was in the car with my son. I had just picked him up from school. He was hungry, tired, and I could tell something was bothering him (one easy indicator was the attitude that was being spewed forward from the back seat). He […]
